TORONTO, Dec. 19, 2016 /CNW/ – Hamilton Capital Partners Inc. (“Hamilton Capital“) is pleased to announce a distribution for the Hamilton Capital Global Bank ETF (ticker “HBG“), which trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange, for the period ended December 31, 2016.

The ex-dividend date for the distribution is anticipated to be December 28, 2016, for all unitholders of record on December 30, 2016. The distribution will be paid in cash, or if the unitholder has enrolled in the dividend reinvestment plan (DRIP), reinvested in additional units of HBG, on or about January 12, 2017.

Hamilton Capital also announces today the estimated non-cash capital gains to be distributed to HBG unitholders for the 2016 tax year (see table below). ETFs are required to distribute any net income and capital gains earned in the year. The final annual capital gains distributions will not be paid in cash but will be reinvested and reported as taxable distributions, and will be used to increase each unitholder’s adjusted cost base for HBG. The ex-dividend date for this distribution is anticipated to be December 28, 2016, for all unitholders of record on December 30, 2016. In early 2017, the tax characteristics of all 2016 distributions will be reported to brokers via CDS.
